To those who walked with us in prayer and encouragement...

Our hearts are so deeply broken, and our lives will never be the same. John was a happy, tender, kind, courageous and honorable husband, father, son, brother, grandson, uncle, friend…and so much more! He has always provided comfort to our family as well as plenty of fun and laughs. John truly loved being an officer, and he would do it all over again - with no regrets. We will miss him dearly until we see him again in Heaven. We know this world is not our home, but this pain still hurts incredibly deep to the core. Our family is broken, but we will rejoice in sweet precious memories and the assurance that John is beside the Lord who loves him more than we ever could. John loved and was dearly loved – that is his legacy we will carry. Throughout the past week of battles, victories, joys, trials and prayers, the loving kindness and support has been amazingly beautiful and has forever humbled our family. If acts of kindness and love could have saved him, he would undoubtedly still be here with us. We do not understand, but we will learn to accept. John was a good man who lived a good life, so we consider our family blessed. He will continue to forever warm our heart and souls.

Battling hard....

JD is fighting hard! He is not out of the woods by any stretch but we are encouraged by the monitor readings. His blood pressure seems to be maintaining at a good level, his oxygen is good, his body temperature is back to normal, his heart rate is good. All good signs. It is possible that another procedure will be done today to close his diaphram. We hope he endures that well. It appears that his leg ISN'T broken (will be confirmed later) and the procedure on his left arm seems to have been successful at getting blood flowing back into it. Status of his pelvis is still not confirmed.

We are encouraged but still praying for more healing. Please join us!

  28. JD, you have to keep fighting. We know you are, don't give up. Father Godcontinue to give him the strength he needs to push thru this. We know you first had to give permission to allow hurt to come to JD and his family, and that you test our faith at these moments. We know Lord you have complete control, continue to hold JD in your hands, give him comfort, peace and most of all strength! We love you father God, and know you won't give up on us. Melissa, we love you and our prayers won't stop. Please keep us updated. God Bless.

  30. You are in my family's prayers. Stay strong. Let God's hands heal you physically and mentally as this experience will have its effects. We know you are a good person as we found out through a few encounters with you about 10 years ago....you may not remember us but we remember you. Again stay strong and and let God guide you and your family through this. I can see his work already through all the community support that is pouring out of the woodworks....

  31. I don't know John, but any police officer who puts their life on the line every day has my utmost respect. I was hearbroken to read this on FB, but I immediately contacted some awesome prayer warriors to pray for John and the miracle that he needs. Be encouraged as John improves because heaven has heard these prayers.

  32. Hey John! My prayers for you and your family! I was shocked to learn about this horrible accident while taking care of one of my patient's this afternoon via Channel 13 News! Being a nurse sometimes isn't so hot because I fully understand what medically is going on. It's been 20 years since I last saw you; Clements c/o 1990. Wishing you a full recovery!
